What is the Okavango Delta?

Botswana, one of the most prosperous countries in Africa, is home to the incredible Okavango Delta. One of seven natural wonders of Africa, the Okavango is a UNESCO world heritage site for a reason.

The Delta is a flooded grassy plain, which is full of lush animal habitat. The Okavango Delta is situated in the Moremi Game reserve, and is considered to be one of the last great bastions of huge concentrations of wildlife.  The best way to explore is by Kayak.

Once you hop into the Kayak, the trail follows narrow paths through the leaves. The guide also points out any areas of interest that if you are brave enough to venture into, could be further explored.  The best way to navigate this huge expanse of inland rivers is by dug out canoes.  Weaving around the Hippos and crocodiles, as you coast past animals refreshing themselves at the water’s shorelines.
